BATUAN TEMPLE

In Batuan Traditional Village there is a very beautiful and artistic Puseh Temple. The temple which stands majestically on the north side of Batuan Village is administratively located in Central Banjar, Batuan Village, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency, Bali. Besides emitting high spiritual vibrations, Puseh Temple of Batuan Village also has a very long historical journey, and in it there are ancient relics from prehistoric times. The arrival of the influence of Hindu culture to Bali made the natural stones in this temple a place of worship, both to the ancestors and to worship the Hindu Gods.
There are many cultural heritage buildings in Bali, their existence is closely related to the course of history and the order of life of the Balinese people. It is stated in an inscription that Puseh Batuan Temple was built around the year Saka 944 (1020 AD) during the reign of King Paduka Aji Sri Dharmawangsa Wardhana of the Warmadewa Dynasty. A relic of an ancient building that has been preserved until now, has a historical background that is almost a thousand years old and has high artistic value, the vibrations of a magical aura are felt by people who work on the spiritual world and unique things, all of this makes Puseh Temple this is a special temple for tourists, so that it is used as a tourist attraction that is of interest to tourists and is often visited on tour agendas in Bali.
The temple building looks magnificent on the north side of the road and across from it there is a stage building where the Gambuh dance is occasionally performed. To enter the temple area, visitors are required to use a cloth that must be used every time they enter the temple area. The temple building ornaments are very thick with Balinese carving ornaments with the basic material being made of red brick, both the gate and the temple.
Puseh Batuan Temple is part of Kahyangan Tiga with a central courtyard/Madya Mandala section where there is Bale Agung, Bale Kulkul and a Kori Agung which looks so majestic standing as a place for the entrance and exit of the Gods, such as Pretima which depicts a sacred object in the form of a small statue as a symbol The Commonwealth God is here. The Kori Agung is flanked by several giant statues symbolized as guards and on the left and right sides the Kori Agung is flanked by 2 small doors for the entry and exit of people to pray in the main courtyard of the temple. On the main page of the Mandala there are various shrines such as Meru and Padmasana, functioning as places of worship for Ida Sang Hyang Widhi and behind the temple there is a wantilan hall where ancient objects are stored. One more proof of the majesty of the temple which always exudes charm apart from its very high historical value
The facilities available in this temple area are toilets and an adequate parking area for visitors who come. Puseh Batuan Temple, which is a tourism route from Celuk to Ubud, is approximately 18 Km from Denpasar City, so it can be reached in only about 30 minutes. The arrangement of the temple which is very good and beautiful and the ornaments on the temple building which are extraordinarily beautiful make this temple crowded with tourists every day.
